PAGE / COMIC ARTIST

We ask you to provide 3 examples of your best pieces.At least one piece should be a fully rendered illustration featuring a complete background (not just flat color or simple shapes) as this is a requirement for final submission.Fanart of Luz and/or Amity is very much appreciated, but not required.Traditional artwork is accepted as long as it is scanned in good qualityMods will evaluate the anatomy and proportions, use of colors and light, backgrounds, and the overall atmosphere of the piece.Comic artists are required to submit examples of their comics. They will be responsible of a 2-4 page comic if accepted.Easily viewable portfolio containing completed artwork (no sketches/personal posts/wips).

MERCH ARTIST

We ask you to provide 3 examples of your best pieces.Samples should be in the art style you intend to use. For example: a fully rendered illustration if you want to make a postcard/bookmark/wallpaper— a chibi if you want to make stickers/charms.Fanart of Luz and/or Amity is appreciated, but not required.You DO NOT need prior merch experience. The mods will take care of production of merch and will be present to help if there is any questions during creation.We will evaluate the anatomy and proportions, use of colors and light, backgrounds, and the overall atmosphere of your art.Easily viewable portfolio containing completed artwork (no sketches/personal posts).Merch Artists will be asked to do spot illustrations for writers and they are welcome to do a full page illustration for the fic if they would like.

We ask you to provide 3 examples of your best pieces.The word count must be between 1k and 2.5k for each fic submitted.At least one of your samples should be a complete, standalone work. Your other samples can be an excerpt of a longer ficYou do not have to provide a sample with TOH characters, but it is GREATLY appreciated.We are looking for solid grammar, good characterization and a strong understanding of creative narrative and flow.Writers and Merch Artists will collab.

What kind of content will be in the fanbook?
This fanbook is centered around the relationship between Luz and Amity. Everything will be SFW and AUs will be allowed.

Will the zine be for charity or profit?
This will be 100% for Charity.

Will the zine be digital or physical?
The zine will be both physical and digital.

Will this zine be artist-centric, writer-centric or feature an even number of artists/writers?
This fanbook will be mostly artist-centric with 12 guests included in the 35 total contributors. This number is subject to change

Will other characters be allowed?
YES! Contributors are more than welcome to include other TOH characters, and we even encourage it in their piece, but the main focus should always remain on Luz and Amity.

How will contributors be compensated?
All sales will be used towards production costs and contributor copies. If the zine is able to break even, all contributors will receive a physical copy of the zine. Our goal is to be able to offer a full bundle with free shipping to contributors. Digital copies will be given to contributors regardless if break even is reached. After contributors copies, all profit made will be donated to the chosen charity yet TBD.

Will mods cover cost if the zine does not break even?
NO, mods will not cover the cost of contributor copies. In the case that the fanzine does not break even, we will be offering contributors the chance to purchase at manufacturing cost.

If a contributor finishes their piece early will they be able to sell or post it?
We ask that all contributors hold their pieces for 3-4 months after orders are shipped, so those who purchased the zine get to see the beautiful works before they are released to the public.

What will be the price of the zine?
We are aiming to have 6 bundles that range from $15 - $65 (prices are subject to change).

Can I apply for more than one position?
Yes, of course! However, you will only be accepted for ONE position and receive ONE email.
e.g. If you apply for Merch and Page Artist and you are accepted as Page, you will only get one email regarding your acceptance as Page Artist.
e.g. 2 If you apply for Writer and Page Artist and do not get accepted for neither, you will receive ONE rejection email.

Will there be international shipping?
Yes, and we will be shipping from Canada! We know shipping prices can be costly, so we will recommend to start a form for group orders as it will be much cheaper. Our team will share the form to help spread the word, but will not be responsible for them after shipping orders go out.

Is there a minimum age requirement for this zine?
Yes. All contributors must have a Discord account, so you must be at least 13+ to join the zine.

Will contributors be picked based on follower count?
Absolutely NOT. We will be selecting contributors based on their skills displayed in their application. For writers, we are looking for solid grammar, punctuation and spelling; good characterization; and well-crafted narratives. For artists, we will evaluate the anatomy and proportions; the use of colors and light; backgrounds; and the overall atmosphere of the piece.
